Regardless of your passport type or travel method, every participant should prepare:

• A clear scanned copy of your passport biodata page
• A valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Card)
• A passport valid for your intended travel dates

Please begin your travel preparations early to allow enough time for processing.

Your travel requirements depend on the passport you will use to enter Ghana.

If you are traveling with an African passport, please complete Ghana’s required entry authorization process before traveling.

Traveling by Air

If you are flying into Ghana:

1. Complete your Entry Travel Authorization (ETA) process before travel.
2. Keep your approval confirmation and travel documents accessible throughout your journey.
3. Where possible, participants are encouraged to travel on the same flight to simplify arrival and immigration procedures.

Traveling by Road

If you registered for group road travel to Ghana, additional information will be required to help coordinate your entry process via the  designated travel group chat.

You will be asked to provide:

• Your full name
• Copy of your Yellow Fever Certificate

We will provide 

• Vehicle registration number
• Driver’s full name
• Group leader’s name and identification document
• Any additional documents required for authorization of entry

If you currently live outside Africa but hold an African passport, your entry requirements are based on the passport you will use to enter Ghana, not your country of residence.

You will follow the same process as African passport holders.

Please ensure that you:

• Complete your Entry Travel Authorization (ETA) process
• Travel with the same passport used for your application
• Ensure your passport is valid for your travel dates
• Carry your passport and Yellow Fever Certificate throughout your journey

Where possible, use the same passport for both departure and arrival into Ghana.

If you are traveling with a non-African passport (including passports from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and other countries), you will need to obtain a Ghana visa before traveling.

Visa applications for ELEVATE participants will be coordinated through the designated visa coordinator.

To participate in the group visa application:

1. Complete your registration payment & submit all required documents before the deadline using the link below.
2. The group visa application process will begin after the application deadline.
